COVID-19 - Important News

In light of the Government's advice on 'social contact and unnecessary travel' yesterday and the news that the FA have advised that all Grassroots Football should cease from now on, we have made the decision that:

  • All TAFC training and matches are cancelled until further notice.
  • There should be no training whatsoever, or attempts to train or play friendlies under the TAFC badge.

We will continually assess and keep you updated.

Welcome to TAFC!

Teddington Athletic FC is a thriving and continually growing children’s football club based in Teddington, Middlesex. The club consists of 37 boys’ and girls’ teams ranging from U6 to U20 age groups. Our teams play Saturdays and Sundays in 4 leagues throughout the South East – but mainly Surrey and Middlesex.

TAFC is proud to have attained its FA Charter Standard status and we are affiliated to the Middlesex County FA. Launched in 2001, The FA Charter Standard Programme supported by McDonald’s is The FA’s accreditation scheme for grassroots clubs and leagues.

Its goal is to raise standards in grassroots football, support the development of clubs and leagues, recognising and rewarding them for their commitment and achievements.

With this in mind, the FA Charter Standard accreditation is awarded to clubs and leagues rigorously adjudged to be well-run and sustainable – and which prioritise child protection, quality coaching and implementation of the Respect programme.

Phil Lee

Teddington Athletic FC was formed in 2006 and Phil Lee was the club's heart and soul. Having recognised that many keen but not necessarily talented youngsters had no organised football in the local area, Phil co-founded the club and worked tirelessly as a team manager, referee, club chairman, and in his last year, as Director of Football. Phil sadly died in August 2011 after a very long and extremely brave battle with cancer. Phil set out the ethos of the club to facilitate football for young players of all abilities so long as they showed the right attitude and committment towards developing and training, a responsibility to their team and respect for referees - values still at the core of what TAFC stands for today.
In honour of Phil's memory, TAFC now present an annual award - The Phil Lee Award - to an individual or individuals associated with the club 'in recognition of their dedication, enthusiasm and voluntary service behind the scenes.'
