Croygas Falcons U10 v. Raptors
4 - 1
The score line does not tell the full story as the Raptors played some of their best football in the first 20 mins since September. Great passing and pressing and also a few moments of great individual skill. Daniel Jolly’s memorable dribble began in his own half weaving in out of players with great feet and speed before setting up Lennon Chalmers for a shot on goal.
Cormac Sims and Max Rankin appeared impenetrable in defensive, winning all loose balls and then playing out from the back with well measured passes.
Lennon came close to scoring on two occasions before opening the scoring to make it one-nil to the Raptors.
We looked to be in control but the game seemed to slip away from us in the second half with a few misplaced passes and we could have pressed the opposition with a bit more urgency when they had the ball. Also it has to be said some great play by the Croygas team who were a formidable outfit!
Man of the match was awarded to Lennon Chamlers, not just for scoring his goal but for 100% commitment: Lennon pressed and did not give the opposition defenders or goaly any time or space! A great moment came when he blocked the goalies clearance and the rebounding ball span millimetres wide of the post!
