The wet and windy weather did not dampen the spirits of the Raptors today. The opposition arrived with only six players and 45 mins late, so this was perhaps not an even contest but the extra space allowed the Raptors to express themselves.

Last week the Raptors waited until twenty minutes into the game before they started pressing and closing the opposition down. Today we stared from the kick off and this gave us the base we needed to start positively and score some goals!

Tom Mullins scored the Raptors opening goal from close range after some persistent Raptors pressure. This was one of Tom’s best games in a Raptors shirt, picking out his team mates with perfectly weighted passes, step overs and drag backs...it was like watching Zidane!

Lennon Chalmers scored four goals today so congratulations to him. The pick of the bunch was his third. He ran with the ball from the half way line and finished with a firm right footer into the bottom left hand corner!

Daniel Jolly scored the Raptors sixth from a Tom Mullins corner. Daniel used the pace of the ball to direct his shot into the net with a delicate glancing touch that saw the ball spin into the top left hand corner.

Max Rankin completed the goal fest when he rounded the keeper in a one on one situation to make it 7-0.

Man of the match was awarded to Aaron Lear who was very solid in defence, reacting quickly to loose balls and didn’t let anything past him today!

Everyone played very well so apologies to those who didn’t get a mention this week.

On to the cup match against Molesey next week!
