Raptors roaring at Leatherhead

Leatherhead Swans v. Teddington Raptors

1 - 4

30/11/2019
Leatherhead F.C.

This was hands down the best performance of the season...and possibly the best Raptors game ever! Our game today was characterised by pass and move football, gritty determination and some wonderful finishes.

Man of the match went to hatrick hero Tom Mullins.

The Raptors completely dominated the first half scoring three goals. Cormac Sims took the game by the scruff of neck in midfield, winning all his tackles and picking out several neat passes.

Tom Mullins opened the scoring after five minutes of Raptors pressure.

His second goal was his best finish of the game. Tom followed up a rebounded shot and passed the ball into the top right hand corner of the net; a classy finish!

Fergus Tavendale scored the third and what has now become his trademark goal; a lob over the goalkeeper.

Zac Lewis played well on the left wing combining with both Cormac and Tom Mullins playing several ‘one twos’ that opened up the Leatherhead defence on numerous occasions.

The Raptors fourth goal was the best team goal. After some great work on the right hand side Cormac Sims made his way to the by line, before picking out Tom Mullins on the penalty spot who calmly tucked the ball away to complete his hatrick.

The Raptors defence was outstanding today. Lucas Mackenzie purred like a Rolls Royce engine at the back, constantly alert, clearing up any lose balls and won every single encounter with the Leatherhead attackers. Freddy Lynn is showing great leadership skills as a centre back and organised the defence well and Fergus looked very dangerous as an attacking wing back!

All nine boys were fantastic today.

A pleasure to watch and great to see the boys enjoying themselves.
