Raptors record first win of the season against Cobham Colts

Cobham Colts v. Teddington Raptors

0 - 1

14/09/2019
Leg O Mutton Field Cobham

Today’s win was all about hard work and determination. The boys worked really hard and the win was well deserved in this evenly matched contest.

The game was played in very hot and sunny conditions on a hard and dry pitch. The Raptors passing game was not quite on the money today and we need to improve on our movement off the ball.

All though the passing was not quite there, the boys will to win was outstanding and they contested every lose ball.

Congratulations to Fergus Tavendale who scored his first goal for the Raptors today. The decisive moment came mid way in the second half when Max Rankin chased down a long ball over the top and forced the goalie to miss hit his clearance. The ball spilled into Fergus’ path and with the goalie out of his area and stranded in no mans land, Fergus carefully lifted the ball over two defenders into the back of the net. A truly stunning goal!

Congratulations also to the Raptors defence and goal keeper who kept a clean sheet today.

Man of the match went Max Rankin who worked tirelessly up front all game for the team team today.

A great team effort all round. Well done boys!
