Raptors lose 1-0 but making great progress.

Teddington Raptors v. Oxshott Youth U10 Blues

0 - 1

Bushy Park-friendly

The last time the Raptors played this Oxshott team from the league above, we lost 9-0. The fact that we went into the half time break today without conceding a goal and then eventually just missed out on drawing the game, demonstrates the great progress the team has been making in recent weeks.

The first half was excellent from the Raptors. Great pressing and passing from defenders and midfielders and Lennon Chamlers worked tirelessly up front. Neither team created any clear chances though and 0-0 was a fair score line at half time.

Oxshott dominated the game in the opening moments after the break and the Raptors were unable to get out of their own half for ten minutes. Billy Hall made a couple of great saves before the Raptors finally conceded a goal.

The Raptors then showed great fighting spirit again and worked hard to get back into the game.

Zac Lewis had a shot saved by the goaly and Jarvis Moore’s powerful right footed shot went just wide of the post.

Daniel Jolly came closet to scoring for the Raptors when the Oxshott goal keeper pushed his looping shot onto the crossbar for a corner.

The draw was not to be, but well done to the boys for giving it a good go!

Man of the match went to Tom Mullins. Toms passing was exquisite at times today. Tom is thinking about his team mates position’s on the pitch before he receives the ball. This gives him an extra second to deliver an acurate pass, vital at any level of football!

Great effort from the boys today
