Out ‘foxed’ by Nork Park

Nork Park v. Teddington Raptors U10

7 - 1

A glorious autumnal morning on a immaculate playing surface in leafy Banstead. Kick off was delayed by five minutes as the opposition grounds man carefully cleared the pitch of any unwanted fox mess. Nork Park from group 3 proved a very tough challenge for the Raptors and the first half was a one sided affair.

We utilised the new FA ‘power-play’ rule at half time for the first time this season and brought on an additional player which balanced out the game. The Raptors only conceded once in the second half and scored a consolation goal late on.

Perhaps our best attacking out field player today was Hayden Elliot whose passing and distribution from the back was excellent.

Max Rankin scored the Raptors only goal today. This was one of the best passing moves of the game which forced the opposition goal keeper to parry a shot into the path of Max, who passed the ball into the bottom left hand corner with the outside of his right boot.

Man of the match went to Billy Hall who had an outstanding game in goal. Billy looked very alert all game and saved 7-8 shots to keep the score line reaching double figures today.

This was our last foray against a group 3 team for now as the Raptors move to group 4 after the half term break.
