Magnificent seven for Raptors

Bookham Colts v. Teddington Raptors

0 - 7

Bookham, Chrystie Recreation Ground

Two wins on the trot for the Raptors, a clean sheet and seven goals! Happy days!

Today’s match was played on a pitch with a considerable slope, with the Raptors playing uphill in the first half. Despite this we still managed to dominate possession and defend well.

It was Cormac Sims who opened the scoring with a well placed shot from the edge of the penalty box into the bottom left hand corner. Incredibly this was our only score of the first half.

Playing downhill in the second period the floodgates opened and we scored another six! Max Rankin and Tom Mullins ran riot in attack scoring the second, third and fourth goals.

Congratulations to Samuel Valaydon-Hynes who scored his first goal for the Raptors with a looping shot into the top left hand corner.

Another first of the season as Zac Lewis was first to the ball to tuck away a close range effort from a sweetly struck in-swinging corner from Cormac Sims.

Again another incredible performance in defence today. No nonsense tackling from Freddy Lynn and Aaron Lear and the pace of Fergus Tavendale and Lucas Mackenzie ensured the speedy Bookham striker didn’t get a look in. Billy Hall made a couple of vital saves and his long range kicking in the second half piled pressure onto the Bookham defence.

Man of the match went to Max Rankin who bagged his first hatrick of the season and terrorised the Bookham defence all morning!
