Teddington Raptors U10 v. AFC Ewell Eagles U10
7 - 3
Bushy Park 3/11/18
The Raptors were roaring once again today. Great passing, great commitment and the majic ingredient...goals!
This was not a walk over as AFC Ewell were a good side and the Raptors had to earn this win. The opposition goaly, a gigantic figure between the posts, was outstanding and prevented the score line reaching double figures.
Lennon Chamlers bagged a hatrick. His second goal was a header, which if my memory serves me correctly was the first ever headed goal scored by a Raptor in three seasons. The fact that it came off the back off Lennons head after a team mate shot at goal (and Lennon admitted after the game he didn’t know too much about what happened), matters not. They all count thank you Lennon. Lennons other two goals were more typical finishes using great skill and pace.
Max Rankin scored two goals from centre midfield. Max’s second was the best finish of the game: a right footed shot hit with the outside of his boot that curled into the top left hand corner! A ’worldy’!
Hayden Elliot, plying in defence, also joined in the goal fest with right a footed shot blasted into the net from just outside the six yard box.
Jarvis Moore scored the Raptors seventh and final goal with a low sweetly struck right footed shot beating the Goaly at the near post!
Every single player played well today. Man of the match went to Daniel Jolly. Daniel was really up for this match, showing great competitive spirit, beating players with a combination of pace and neat footwork. It was also really pleasing to see Daniel lifting his head up before delivering acurate short and long range passes.
The Raptors really deserved this win after a difficult few months and this was reminder of the great football this team is capable of playing.
