Woking Tigers v. Lions
4 - 1
A tough day yesterday for the boys as they had to play the last 25 minutes of the match with only 9 players. It was always going to be difficult without some key players but the team battled extremely well and created some good chances including an amazing penalty save from their keeper which could have brought the game back to 2-2. I am confident that with a full squad that we will win the home match against Woking when we play them later in the season.
U13 Teddington Tigers v. U13 Finchampstead Rovers
3 - 3
Table topping Tigers made a slow start to this match. The manager had sent out the correct kick off time on the morning and there were only 9 players on the pitch at Kick Off. Finchampstead took an unexpected lead with a scrappy goal. Tigers then took total control of the game. Wave after wave of attacks followed. There was some comment on an opposition linesman, who was very quick with the flag, ruling out one goal and several clear breaks. Eventually Hooper broke through and calmly slotted home.
Half Time 1-1
The second half started with the tigers on the front foot. Richmann arrowed a goal in from the wing and Hoang looped on in from the edge of the area. At this point excitement mounted as a goal feast was anticipated. Several good chances were spurned and the post rattled. Finchampstead scored with a pitch long breakaway and gained confidence. Shortly before the end numbers poured forward and caught Tigers out again.
Full Time 3-3

Sandhurst Rangers U13 v. Teddington Tigers U13
0 - 10
Today we played Sandhurst Rangers, it was a good game. They created some chances to score but couldn’t finish them so were unable to get a goal, but when we were attacking and had opportunities to score, we did so. Their goalkeeper made some good saves but couldn’t save all of our shots. The build up play was great and the finishing was excellent. As a whole our team had good chemistry, good passing, and especially good finishing. We played well together and in the end it was an impressive 10-0 victory.
● Leon Chakraborti (3) ● Joseph Lucas (2) ● Hugo Heverin (2) ● Paul Hoang (2) ● Freddie Wilkinson (1)
MOM : Chakraborti
Overall it was a great team effort, let's carry on playing like this!
Lions v. GPR Titans
1 - 5
We battled well last Sunday against a strong GPR side and we do see signs of improvement in the lads commitment. A special mention to Billy who did a great job as our second-half goalkeeper and was blameless for the goals conceded in the second-half. For this reason he was my man of the match. Of course there was an exceptional start to Matthew’s Lions' career, coming off the bench to score a screamer into the top corner. Let’s hope there’s plenty more of those to come!
If the boys can continue to up their physical side to the game, play with their heads up and pass the ball quickly then results will come.
Teddington Tigers v. Ascot Aces
6 - 4
Tension was high at St Mary's as the team returned from a week off, courtesy of a blank cup week. Ascot Aces had visited in September and left with a 5-2 victory.
The game started with flurry of goals. Lucas snaked his way past four defenders and slotted home. A long shot eluded Heverin for the equaliser and then Chakraborti put the Tigers in the lead with a driven shot apparently 'learnt from FIFA'. 2-1 after 5 minutes. The game settled down and approaching half time the Tigers conceded a penalty. This was hit obligingly in Heverin's mid-rift. Before half time Sant struck a sweet half volley home from 15 yards. 3-1 half time.
Tigers exerted more control after half time. Lucas struck again for 4-1, and Ascot pulled one back. Lucas completed his hat-trick and the Tigers were 5-2 up. A few changes were made and Ascot tried their luck with some long range shooting. Some went for throw ins, but a couple of true strikes pulled it back to 5-4. Ascot and a few spectators seemed assured the comeback was on. Tigers remained calm and took advantage as the spaces opened up. A sweeping move ended up with Richmann slotting home by the post.
The whistle blew and Tigers had earned a good victory in a close match. Solidity in backline of Folley, Wyatt, Buyukberber and Nunn/Chakraborti was again a key asset to build on.

TAFC U13 Lions v. Claygate U13 Royals Hares
3 - 6
Another good performance from the lads today which unfortunately was not quite sufficient to overcome a Claygate side from the league above us. As we discussed with the boys after the game we need to up the physicality on the pitch and make sure we win those 50/50 balls as technically we are as good as most of the sides we meet. Two good goals from Ed and one from Luca gave us a chance however Claygate were clinical with their finishing and were often stronger in winning the ball in midfield.
Good performances from all, with Alex Lord in particular filling in at right-back, but my Lions' man of the match this time goes to Harry for all his relentless running and commitment to the cause.
I know you’ve heard this one before but it was once again a shame that some of the Lions excellent passing and movement didn’t end with a score line that more accurately reflected the possession during the game. Whilst Virginia Water are a good side I still think that with the footballing gods on our side we could beat them, but that will have to be for another season now! A superb Beckham like goal from Sam while still in his own half was the highlight, with Ed doubling our score in the second half. A mention also for Alex Batty who is drilling the back line like Tony Adams into something resembling Arsenal’s defence in the 90’s!
The scoreline did not reflect the play as we were very unlucky with a number of chances while their keeper made some great saves.
